A festival atmosphere, extraordinary encounters, discovery, wonder, immersion, and a wealth of new discoveries and rediscoveries: this is what The Day of Silence promises on Sunday, 15 November 2026, at the Budapest Music Center (BMC).
As is tradition, the musical programme of The Day of Silence unfolds simultaneously across several venues. Alongside the musicians of the Ligeti Ensemble, a formation established under the auspices of András Keller and Concerto Budapest, visitors can enjoy performances by outstanding soloists and chamber musicians.
Since its launch in 2015, The Day of Silence has become one of Budapest’s most prestigious contemporary music festivals, presenting several generations of Hungarian composers working today each year. The concerts are distinctive in the way they are uniquely interwoven to form an unrepeatable musical tapestry, with the works responding to one another and acquiring their special character through their interplay and interaction in the concert spaces.
