Once again, the most diverse personalities have been sent invitations to attend the musical pantheon of the Concerto Color series. The programme motto: Romanticism in modern dress. The concert is about a kind of alternative to expressivity and passion in the classical sense. It clearly shows that contemporary music does not overwrite and replace the passion of Romanticism, but rather it progresses and reinterprets it. We can trace the musical evolution and witness how new ways built on the continuity of tradition become enjoyable and inspirational. The programme includes two premieres. One is the work Hajnal /Dawn/ by Géza Gémesi – the composer is also acting as conductor for the recital – and the other a composition entitled Falak /Walls/ by the highly talented Márton Levente Horváth. In the second half, further tones of lyrical beauty tinge works by Debussy and de Falla: 20th century vocal French Gypsy music, as metaphor for Romantic attitude and beauty, is apparent in the works of both composers as a source of inspiration. Thus we receive a rounded picture of all shades of the 20th century’s concept of beauty.
