Popular and lesser-known 19th, 20th and 21st-century Hungarian compositions will feature again this season within the framework of Concerto Budapest's already established Vigadó series. The concerts will present works ranging from the contemporary composer Judit Varga's kinetic Beethoven-hommage to the Dante Symphony closing the fourth night, under the batons of Tibor Bogányi, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Domonkos Héja and János Kovács. Beyond the giants of music history, works by Dohnányi, Lajtha and Kodály's student, János Viski, will also feature on the programme. None other than the celebrated cellist, Miklós Perényi, will interpret Viski's Cello Concerto. Besides him, such artists will reveal to us the gems of our musical heritage as the trumpeter, Gábor Boldoczki, the precussionists Zoltán Rácz and Boglárka Fábry (at the closing concert of the series) and three excellent pianists, János Balázs, Fülöp Ránki Fülöp and Mihály Berecz.
