The exclusive Around the World on Mozart Day includes a personal message and short musical excerpt from five great artists streamed in from all over the globe. First of all, Klára Würtz, professor of piano at the Conservatory of Arts, Utrecht, is with us from Amsterdam. She plays the third movement from Mozart’s 12th (F major) piano sonata. We then fly from the Netherlands straight to Salzburg, from where Imre Rohmann and Tünde Kurucz welcome the audience with their own arrangement of the Glass Harmonica Quintet. Adrienne Krausz invites us to join her in Basel, Switzerland, with the third movement (‘Turkish March’) of the Mozart A major sonata. Finally, we are guests of a world star from overseas when we journey to the United States. Malcolm Bilson greets his audience from Ithaca in the state of New York; he is a true sorcerer of the pianoforte and proves so by winding up this most unusual trip around the world with the first movement of the B-flat major sonata.
